Just hours after finding out the patio for the new Chip’s Old Fashioned Hamburgers is a go (it was still up in the air last time we wrote about them), the Gamster brothers came to Lakewood to check up on the new location at Skillman and La Vista.

Brent and Grant Gamster gave us a tour, parts of which you can watch in the video above, and talked about their vision for the place. Some highlights are:

1. The patio is officially official and will seat about 3o people. Plus, the windows in the main dining area can be opened for a patio-like feel.

2. The Gamsters are taking extra pains to preserve the integrity of the building, namely by cutting out the windows from Paperbacks Plus and using them as dividers inside the building.

3. They plan to hang the original, 32-year-old Chip’s sign inside the building.

4. The playroom for the kiddos will be in a separate room, which will hopefully lend a little peace and quiet to diners.

5. There will be a full bar and a separate dessert area, unlike Chip’s location on Lovers where they serve drinks and desserts from the same counter.
