On a cold February morning, a DFW Rescue Me volunteer and Lakewood resident found this sweet boy left tied to and tangled up in a construction sign on the side of a busy road looking sad and confused.  She took him to the shelter to be scanned for a microchip, and everyone was relieved when they discovered he had one and his name was Onyx. That relief soon turned to disbelief once the owners were contacted and said they did not want the dog back.

Onyx appears to be 6- to 7-years-old. He is a lab mix and described like your typical lab: loving, happy and playful. Onyx does well with kids and other dogs. He weighs about 50 pounds, and is neutered and heart worm negative. Microchip information will need to be changed to his lucky new owner!
