A year after the brutal rape and beating of a Parkland Hospital nurse in East Dallas, police still have no suspects.

In a recent news story, 31-year-old Ashley Green identified herself as the victim of the June 2011 attack and recounted her terrifying experience in hopes that her assailant might be caught.

On a street just off Henderson, in an area populated by bars and late-night restaurants, Green was blindsided as she walked to her car. She doesn’t remember much after that. She didn’t get a good look at her attacker. She senses there might have been two. She only heard a man say, “Shut up bitch,” before knocking her out the second time. She was raped and beaten beyond recognition.

Today she is mentally and physically strong despite serious injuries incurred in the attack. She is not afraid to speak, she says. “The worst thing that could happen already has … only good could come of doing this,” she tells reporter Scott Goldstein. The entire story can be read here.

A $50,000 reward is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in the case. Anyone with information can call police at 214-671-3584 or Crimestoppers at 214.373.8477.
