I did hear from Sean Haynes, Allen Vaught’s chief of state late Friday afternoon about the state House vote on the TXU sale. He said that Vaught, who represents East Dallas and Lake Highlands, wasn’t thrilled with what happened, and that Vaught tried to vote in a way to keep consumer’s interests paramount. Given the way Rep. Phil King of Weatherford managed the voting — the second bill, to allow the PUC to vote on the sale, never even made it to the floor — Haynes said Vaught did the best he could. He also said that Vaught would be preparing a statement about the energy bills. I’ll link to that when it becomes available.
