The lunch menu is ample and reasonably priced at Mexico Lindo (on Grand just south of Garland) — 17 options, most of them priced at $6.50. But the last item on the lunch menu gave us pause: "deliciouse" tamales.
At first we weren’t sure if it was a Spanish word with which we were unfamiliar, but editor Marlena Chavira-Medford, who is fluent in Spanish, assured us that she had never heard of "deliciouse", only "delicioso". Unfortunately, no one ordered them, so we can’t even tell you if they were delicious.
This amusing menu goof is the first in our new "signs and wonders" blog feature. We’d love for you to join in — if you see a sign that amuses you or makes you stop and think, snap a quick mobile phone photo and send it our way to signsandwonders@advocatemag.com. We’re looking for the ones outside churches, in and around restaurants, adorning retail stores, and whatever else causes you to do a double take as you drive down the street (or walk or ride your bike).
