Dallas Police have accused 36-year-old Marl Jerome Alexander of stealing a woman’s car at knife point Monday night. He has been charged with aggravated robbery and evading arrest in the attack at a self-serve laundry on Abrams Road. Alexander is accused of taking a 42-year-old woman’s keys from the laundry and then threatening her with a knife before driving away in her 2002 Mercury Cougar.
A patrol officer spotted her car near Mockingbird Lane and Central Expressway and chased it into Oak Cliff. Police used a spiked strip to flatten the car’s tires near Ewing and Clarendon. The video shows the suspect getting out of the disaled car and running. But the police caught him a few minutes later.
Police think Alexander might be responsible for as many as nine other carjackings that targeted women, including six in East Dallas.
