Meyboom Brasserie, which was located at 2100 Greenville Ave. across from Trader Joe’s, closed last year.

The kind of food that will be served at Fonda Toro hasn’t been specified yet. The team behind this project sought a commercial alteration addition permit, which is in the inspection phase, with the City of Dallas for an interior and exterior renovation of 1,600 square feet for $450,000, according to the City’s permitting website.

The renovation is listed on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation Architectural Barriers Project Details Page, since it is subject to the Architectural Barriers Act and  Texas Accessibility Standards. The interior finish out project on 3,261 square feet was supposed to start last month, is expected to be completed on Aug. 1 and costs $375,000.

It is unclear why the cost and square footage on the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation website differs from that of the City of Dallas.

Time will tell when we’ll be able to try out this new restaurant. We’ll follow up with any updates.
