Construction crews are working on the former Fernando’s Mexican Cuisine space.
Smoky Rose owner and Goodwins co-owner David Tripplehorn Cash is opening a new Tex-Mex concept in Preston Hollow.
The Dallas Morning News reported that Cantina la Rosa will open in the space that formerly housed Fernando’s Mexican Cuisine. Both the Preston Hollow and Richardson locations of Fernando’s closed in May of this year.
Cantina la Rosa is set to open in February 2026. Construction crews are currently working on the 3,169-square-foot space.
According to the DMN, Cash is not the only person from Smoky Rose that will be part of the new venture. The barbecue joint’s executive chef Rolando Garcia and co-owner Oscar Aroche will be Cantina la Rosa’s executive chef and general manager, respectively.
Cantina la Rosa will be located at 4347 W. Northwest Highway #100.
