The family friendly block party will take place 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 in the 6600 block of Lakewood Boulevard. Entertainment will include live music by Last Call Karaoke, a karaoke band by Lakewood dads. Kids can enjoy a ride on a trackless train as well as have fun on inflatables — i.e., a bounce house, obstacle course and 55-foot Warrior Jump, in addition to others.

Meanwhile, adults can test their strength in the beer stein holding competition.

It’s not a party without food and drinks. Beer by Westlake Brewing in Deep Ellum (which was founded by Lakewood neighbor Art Harvey), sliders and fries from East Dallas’ Easy Slider food truck, and frozen yogurt from TCBY (which has a store at Abrams Road and Mockingbird Lane) will be served at the event.

“We’ll also be celebrating our outstanding student summer sellers, so come ready to cheer, sing and raise a glass with your neighbors,” reads an email from the Lakewood Neighborhood Association.
