Scoggins is best known in Lake Highlands, where he grew up, for sculpting and installing a Pegasus near Wildcat Stadium in 2023. That art piece, made from repurposed scrap metal and new steel, was meant to highlight the history of Dallas, where a Pegasus was first seen atop the Magnolia Hotel downtown in 1934. According to Greek mythology, the Pegasus is a symbol of freedom, power and endless creativity.

CURRENT is a solo show which pulls from Scoggins’ background in welding and found-object art. His talent is in highlighting the beauty of natural materials and transforming them into one-of-a-kind collectibles.

An opening reception will be held June 27 from 5:30-8:30 at Twelve Thirty Four Flowers. Twelve Thirty Four is a gift and floral shop featuring hand-made vessels, ceramics, candles and other gifts sourced from local and international artists. Admission is free, but tickets should be secured online here.

Thirty Four Flowers is at 4034 Swiss Avenue.

Scoggins’ Pegasus sits at the corner of Church Road and White Rock Trail.
