A North Carolina dog park and social club is considering several possible sites in our neighborhood for a second location, a spokeswoman for the company said.

Skiptown, a membership-based pet-care service, is looking at the Lower Greenville and Deep Ellum neighborhoods, as well as Bishop Arts and Trinity Groves, for a 20,000-square-foot facility that is scheduled to open this summer. The company has not yet finalized a location, spokeswoman Kelly Hetrick said.

CEO Meggie Williams told the Dallas Business Journal that she chose Dallas for the second location because of the number of Millennials and young professionals. She expects at least 1,600 individuals to sign up for membership.

She also told the publication that Skiptown would need about 60 local employees to staff the location.

Skiptown was formed during the pandemic after Williams was forced to transform her dog-walking business. The company offers grooming, boarding services, indoor and outdoor dog play areas and a bar for pets and their people to socialize.
