A 9-year-old girl died Wednesday after police say gang members fired into the wrong apartment in Old East Dallas.

Officers responded at 5:25 p.m. to the complex at 3535 Munger Ave. Upon arrival, they found the victim and performed CPR before transporting her to Baylor Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
CBS DFW identified the girl as Brandoniya Bennett.
Witnesses told police the assailants approached a unit and demanded that one of the tenants come outside. When the tenant refused, they went to the back of the apartment building.
One person then fired into the wrong apartment, hitting the girl inside.
Investigators say the shooting was gang related.
No arrests have been made. Anyone with information regarding this deadly shooting is asked to call authorities at 214-671-3584.
