The Fall Garden Tour features beautiful gardens all over the city, including Lakewood and East Dallas.

See some of the most well-tended yards in our neighborhood as the Dallas County Master Gardeners showcase their work this Saturday, including some gardens in Lakewood. Tickets are $15-$20 and available here. All proceeds benefit the Master Gardeners, who tend school and community gardens, including the ones at Robert E. Lee and Lipscomb elementaries.

Enjoy catching Pokemon?  This Friday night at the Dallas Arboretum, you get the chance to catch them all. The Arboretum is hosting a Pokemon Prowl, where from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. you can run wild through the world famous gardens in search of your favorite characters. There will be food trucks and the Arboretum’s cafe will have food, wine, and beer. Tickets are $12 and parking passes are free.

If you are looking for good beer, food and music, head on over to Oktoberfest at Flag Pole Hill. There will be German beer tasting, as well as tons of different German foods to snack on throughout the day. Performances by the Lake Highlands High School dance teams and Bowling for Soup round out the evening. Get your $5 entry wristband and/or food and beer tickets here.

On Friday, the Naked Stage brings a night of spoken word and poetry to Union Coffee. Local literary talents will be sharing their work from 8-10 p.m.

Saturday, Half Priced Books has a few events for the community. From 1-2 p.m., award-winning graphic novelist, National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature and MacArthur Foundation Genius Grant Winner

 will be on site to share and sign his work, “Paths & Portals.” From 7-9 p.m., Dallas Unity String Orchestra will perform a free concert. The group includes amateur and professional string musicians performing classical/pops music.

This Saturday, Oct. 1, is the last day that the Bath House Cultural Center is hosting the Fall Art Gallery Walk of the Dallas Art Dealers Association. The gallery will have various artists and pieces from all over the Dallas metroplex. From noon-8 p.m, be sure to check out the local talent who create art in our community.
