Love the Loop, a Dallas Running Club 15k at White Rock Lake, takes place this Saturday, beginning and ending at Winfrey Point. Dallas Running Club is a nonprofit that benefits various local causes, including providing yearly college scholarships to high school senior cross country runners. An annual membership fee of $25 is good for eight free club races, held the first Saturday of each month (except November and December) at 8 a.m. Non-members can register for $10 here.

There is also the Hot Chocolate Run set from Saturday beginning at 7:30 a.m. from Fair Park. However, street closures are planned across Lakewood and Munger Place — see which roads will be affected here.

All matters of heart art goes on display with the opening of “El Corazón” at the Bath House Cultural Center this Saturday. From 7-9 p.m., the artists will be on hand to discuss their work and share some light bites during the opening reception. Curated by Jose Vargas, the heart-themed exhibition has been a staple in our neighborhood for 23 years. It will stay up through March 4, and is free to visit. Feeling like some late-night improv? Pocket Sandwich Theater has you covered with an unusual showcase this Saturday from 11:15 p.m.-1 a.m. Take One Productions will celebrate its 10th year with their first show in Dallas offering a “Whose Line Is It Anyway” inspired evening of theatrical play. Tickets are $5 and available at the door.

Union Coffee will host a frank and open discussion about immigration and refugees this Thursday from 7:45-9:45 p.m. “This is an open forum to express your feelings, opinions and discuss ways that we can take civil actions,” the website says. There is no charge to attend.

While we’re talking politics, the newly formed Blue Wall/Indivisible Lakewood is dedicated to “the constitutional rights and freedoms of every American through political action and non-violent protest,” according to its Facebook page. The group will meet this Sunday from 2-3:30 p.m. in the upstairs room at Toasted Coffee + Kitchen. Those who attend are asked to contribute $1 to offset the hosting expenses.
