A 7-year-old boy and a 1-year-old boy who went missing from a Far East Dallas apartment were found alive Monday after authorities discovered their mother had died from homicidal violence.
The boys were last seen around 8 p.m. Sunday at the Halston Apartments in the 8000 block of Ferguson Road. They were found unharmed at 9:30 a.m. Monday at an apartment in northeast Dallas, ABC affiliate WFAA reported.
Police think the boys were abducted by their apparent father, 33-year-old Johnnie Ray Palmore, according to the station.
WFAA reported that Palmore is also a suspect in the death of the boys’ mother, 26-year-old Latiffiney Rodger, who was found dead in her apartment Sunday night.
During the investigation, police discovered the children were missing and issued an Amber Alert early Monday.
Palmore was taken in critical condition to a local hospital to be treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
