The über mod sign at the southeast corner of Skillman and Southwestern should have forewarned me that Zom Living’s website would play techno music. (Is that what the kids are calling it these days?)

The company, which has created high-density residential projects all over Florida and Texas, is now working on the Village View at that corner, across from the Medallion Shopping Center. According to the website, the development will have 422 residential units; is a "luxury development within the heart of the North Central Dallas transformation" (who knew we were undergoing transformation?); has "excellent access" to Northwest Highway, Central Expressway, NorthPark Center and the Dallas Central Business District (I guess it’s closer to downtown than Frisco, but …); and each unit will feature granite countertops, upgraded appliances (upgraded from what?) and spacious bedrooms and closets. It will open in 2010.

The company already has developed three properties in Dallas — The Mondrian, a CityPlace high-rise condo and loft tower in 2003; Estancia, townhomes in Far North Dallas’ Prestonwood neighborhood in 2004; and Trianon, 331 French provincial-style apartments in the Uptown/Cresent area in 2006 (sold in 2007).
