The White Rock Y made these yard signs available at Tuesday night's meeting.

I believe they call the group “Adventure Guides” now, but back when my kids were young, they were Indian Guides with the East Dallas YMCA (now the YMCA at White Rock). And in conjunction with the new YMCA building going up on Gaston Avenue, the Y would like neighbors to donate old Guide items, as well as other YMCA memorabilia (or allow the items to be photographed), for a new display going up in the new building.

Here’s what the Y’s Brandi Thomas says they’re seeking:

“Soon, the White Rock YMCA will open the doors to its beautiful new facility. This grand opening will become part of the history of the Y in East Dallas and White Rock, a history that dates back to 1955. The rich history of the YMCA in our community will be honored with a history wall in the new Y. If you are a part of the history of the Y in East Dallas or White Rock and are willing to share items, photographs or stories, you can help.  Please contact Brandi Thomas at brandi.thomas0422@yahoo.com and she will collect your items for display.”
