Just months before the owner of the “pink house” in Vickery Place died of an illness, neighbor Jeremy Wenninger promised the woman he’d save her historic home.

The 1923 Craftsman home is gone now. But it wasn’t his fault.

An Irving-based demolition company, JR’s Demolition, apologized Thursday after accidentally tearing down the home at 5532 Richard Ave.

JR’s Demolition had a permit to demolish a residence at 5336 Richard Ave. but ended up two blocks away.

Owner Bobby Lindamood told ABC affiliate, WFAA, that his crew thought they were at the right location.

“The house wasn’t marked, and it had no power and no gas,” Lindamood told the station. “All I can say is I’m sorry. It’s our worst mistake, and we’ll make it right.”

Wenninger said the home hadn’t been lived in since his friend died in 2018, but renovation work had begun.
