Woodrow Wilson High School sophomore Grace Choi is among four state tournament qualifiers from the Region II Class 4A golf tournament. Choi finished in third place at the tournament, held at Wildhorse Golf Course in Robson Ranch; Choi shot a 151 over two rounds (par is 72). Woodrow’s girls golf team finished 13th in the tournament. Team members include Emily Ziegler, Ali Witt, Sami Braun, Cristina Arambula and Katie Shaw.
Meanwhile, Woodrow’s boys golf team finished 14th at the regional tournament. Team members include John Cochran, Clint Joaquim, Joey Larson, Sam Shaw and Jake Thomas.
Both teams won their District tournaments and are coached by Woodrow alum Tom Crabb. Woodrow’s annual Tim Brown Golf Tournament and fund-raiser for the athletic department is May 2 at Tenison Golf Course.
