Pitcher Jose Perez and outfielder Brian Bessner top the Woodrow Wilson contingent on the 1993 all-District 12-4A team. It is the third consecutive time Bessner has earned all-district honors.
Perez, a junior, was 4-3, and led the Wildcats’ staff with a nifty 1.98 earned run average Bessner batted .382, with 11 runs batted in and 13 stolen bases.
Jeff Boortz, Mac Hill, Duke Barnes, and sophomore Joe Theriot made the second team. Boortz batted .457 in district play with a perfect 1,000 fielding average. Hill scored 23 runs, while Barnes, also a sophomore, batted .462 in district competition.
Two other Woodrow Wilson sophomores earned honorable mention status. Robert Padilla finished with a 5-4-1 record and a 2.29 ERA. Frank Zapien batted .284 with a 12 RBI.
