A Woodrow Wilson High School student has been named to the Dallas ISD Teen School Board. Junior Alexandra Brooks will be the community service chairperson.
The teen board is a student advisory group made up the district’s junior and seniors. They meet monthly and mediate between campuses and the board of trustees. They look at student concerns and contribute ideas to improve the educational experience at their schools. They also participate in community service projects and learn from each other about the rest of the district.
“Dallas Teen School Board provides high school students an opportunity to enhance their leadership skills while working with district administrators and board members,” said Jacki McFarland, director for Districtwide Student Initiatives, told Dallas ISD.
