A woman was killed in a hit-and-run accident early Sunday morning in Old East Dallas, police told The Dallas Morning News.

Authorities responded to Terry Street and South Munger Boulevard around 1:50 a.m. and discovered that a woman had been hit by a car, the driver of which remains unknown.

Dallas police said the victim was crossing the street when she was hit, and the driver did not stop to help or make sure she was okay, according to The News.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she later died. She has yet to be identified publicly.
