Over the Winter break, J.L. Long Middle School was hit by burglars.

Reportedly, thieves, over three different occasions on Dec. 19, 22 and 28, broke into the school on Reiger Ave. in East Dallas and made off with computers and athletic equipment. To be exact: 41 student laptops, 10 Infocus projectors, four desktop computers and various computer peripherals, footballs, weight belts and more.

The J.L. Long community is angry and upset over the thefts, says parent Ashley Brown, who told us about the incidents.

J.L. Long, after receiving historical landmark designation and $3.7 million in a bond program for renovations, was under construction at the time of the burglaries, which might have made it easier for the thieves to get in.
