When a jogger was killed on the Katy trail last fall, it mobilized the city — both residents and officials — to make our busy trails, such as White Rock, safer.

Last Friday, the city started clocking speeds at White Rock. It was sort of a test to see if enforcement and restrictions are needed, according to the NBC5 story.

If Friday’s results are any indication, cyclists, generally are moving at about 15 mph, but I assume Friday afternoon (in August) is not prime time for vigorous training either.
