John Whiteside has returned to his real estate roots. The purchase last month of his Lakewood/East Dallas-based Whiteside Associates Inc. by Coldwell Banker Paula Stringer is a renewal of a relationship he began in 1981, the year he was hired by Paula Stringer Real Estate operations as assistant to the CEO.

“This new association with the Stringers and Coldwell Banker is fortuitous in more than one way,” says Whiteside, who formed Whiteside Associates 13 years ago with his wife, Glenda.

“It’s clearly a culmination of the goals we set forth in the early ‘80s during out first association.”

“Now we’ll be able to accomplish what we originally set out to do, and our past working relationship assures a smooth transition and a highly productive transition.”

The new firm will be called Coldwell Banker Whiteside Associates, and John Whiteside will continue to operate the neighborhood office.

Whiteside says the move will be of considerable benefit to his 40-plus sales associates, who will now have access to Coldwell Banker’s international network.

Founded in 1984, Whiteside Associates grew from a start-up operation to the 12th-largest residential brokerage in Dallas.

Coldwell Banker now operates 16 Dallas-Fort Worth area offices. In 1996, the firm recorded more than $1 billion in residential real estate sales.
