The White Rock Local Market is Dec. 12, from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. (extended hours) outside the Green Spot at 702 N. Buckner. This is the last chance this season to shop the market featuring locally produced art, jewelry, clothes, and vintage bike parts, to name a few — and this one will be a special extended holiday version of the monthly market in conjunction with Lake Highlands Village Shopping Center’s annual Green Christmas at the Lake.

The event will showcase area musicians and offers special services such as grease, battery and printer cartridge recycling, as well as candle wax recandeling (see the ReCandle booth). Look for some of our featured designers while you’re there, and you might even catch a glimpse of ol’ St. Nick. Some of the proceeds from the event will benefit Dallas Morning News Charities and Family Gateway Center for homeless families with Children. “Patrons will have a chance to do all holiday shopping without ever stepping into a retail store,” organizers say.
