Parks and Recreation released a memo addressing the continued efforts made to manage the erosion at White Rock Lake’s shoreline near Garland Road.

The memo, released on Wednesday, Sept. 18, states that Planning and Design staff is in the process of awarding a contract for the design of sheet piling. The piling is meant to address the erosion, while ensuring minimal disruption to the trail. It’s stated that this option will prevent the reduction of White Rock Lake’s capacity.

Parks and Recreation staff is organizing a meeting with Dallas Water Utilities, Transportation, Public Works and the Texas Department of transportation to sort out possible funding options for the construction of the sheet piling.
