The good news: White Rock Lake dog park is finally getting the long overdue revamp that was proposed two years ago.
The bad news: to complete the renovations, the park will be closed for several months starting this Friday, April 25. In the meantime, you’ll have to drive around a bit to find another dog park for some puppy play time (a few of those are listed on this Dallas Parks and Recreation website.)
The city council approved the $946,000 contract to begin construction in January. Just last week the release to begin construction was announced.
The DMN originally reported that the park would close March-December, so with the late start in construction — which will take at least nine months — we can expect the dog park to reopen early 2015. We’ll keep you posted with construction updates as the project progresses.
