If you’ve seen or heard bulldozers and construction equipment near the Old Fish Hatchery at White Rock Lake, rest assured, the area is (probably) not being clear-cut again.
Dallas Water Utilities is performing ongoing dam maintenance, which includes concrete repairs to the spillway, slope stabilization improvements and vegetation management. The work is scheduled for completion in summer 2022, according to the Dallas City Council District 9 Facebook page.
As a safety precaution, no one will be allowed in the construction area, which includes the Old Fish Hatchery, and some trails will be closed. Trail users on the White Rock Lake Trail and the SoPac Trail will be rerouted to the Santa Fe Trail.
