During that time the nonprofit has evolved from a food pantry into a community coalition of individuals, civic and social organizations, along with more than 50 area churches united to provide emergency aid and steps toward self-sufficiency for neighbors in need. To meet that goal, the organization now offers several means of assistances such as a resale shop, food pantry, and transportation services.

According to White Rock Center of Hope’s website, more than 300,000 people in over 100,000 families have received aid from the organization. And that number only continues to increase.

Ted Beechler, the center’s executive director, says that due to the growing number of families seeking aid, the organization is in “desperate need” of donations and volunteer interviewers.
