Canine Commissary used to be in the space west of Joann Fabric and Crafts on Mockingbird near Abrams. It closed last summer and consolidated to one store on Garland Road.
The vacant space between Joann and Jos. A. Bank is pretty prime property, according to a story we did about Hillside Village and the strong demographics around Mockingbird-Abrams. Apparently, Joann corporate thinks so, too, because it is expanding its current store into the Canine Commissary space.
A Joann employee says the Canine Commissary space is being retooled right now, and employees expects to move in and operate from that space sometime in March. The current space will be updated, and both spaces should open as one much larger store this summer.
