WeWork has leases in seven DFW buildings, including Uptown Dallas, Las Colinas and Plano. Common Desk, a Dallas-based coworking startup that WeWork acquired in 2022, operated 13 locations in the metroplex.

In November, the co-working brand sought Chapter 11 bankruptcy and is attempting to renegotiate or break leases all across the country.  WeWork is asking the bankruptcy court to end the lease on the original Common Desk office at 2919 Commerce St. in Deep Ellum and 633 W. Davis St. in Oak Cliff. Common Desk was founded in 2012 by Nick Clark, a Southern Methodist University alum.

In December, WeWork asked the court to end the lease on their North Hall Street building near Ross Avenue, which housed Fiction Coffee since 2017.
