West Nile virus alert: The areas to be sprayed Thursday night by the city include an area south of the DART blue line and north of Vanderbilt Avenue between Greenville Avenue and Abrams Road. Spraying is scheduled to start around 10 p.m. and conclude by 3 a.m. The city hall website reports that the spray is considered safe but recommends as little direct contact with the spray as possible.
