If you’re itching to get out on the town this weekend, you’ll be disappointed to know there’s not a lot on the menu. My guess is the event planners of Dallas assumed we would need a breather after New Year’s weekend. Probably smart of them. But for those party animals who are still raring to go, here’s what’s going on in the next few days:

A friendly heads-up on an event you’ll definitely want to be aware of. White Rock Lake Conservancy announced a WRL Conservation Project, and they’re asking that people volunteer to help plant 150 to 200 trees at the Stone Tables Picnic area on Jan. 12th, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Lunch will be provided, so grab your work gear and make a day of it! More on that later.

I’m not sure if this classifies as weekend event, but it’s certainly worth mentioning. Dallas Children’s Theater has announced their 2013 season schedule, and tickets are on sale.
