Visit Tietze Pool this weekend and enjoy what the Dallas Observer calls one of the top pools in Dallas. The 1920s era pool and park are a great place to cool off this summer. The hours are Monday-Thursday from 1-6 p.m., Friday 1-8p.m. and Saturday 12-8 p.m.

Head to Greenville Avenue Pizza Company for free ice cream this Thursday. Be the first 100 guests at either location to order a slice and get some free Blue Bell ice cream with your ‘za.

Meet artist Elizabeth Wiley at C.C. Young this Thursday at 3:30 p.m. The equestrian artist will have a gallery of paintings and will be available for discussion about her love of horses, dressage and the relationship between horses and humans. The event is free and will include refreshments.

Keep it cool at the arboretum’s Thursday concert series with The Prince Experience. There is a chance of purple rain, so bring your Prince umbrellas. The show is at 7:30 p.m.

Come take a survival cooking class with Cindy Kelchner this Saturday at the Dallas Arboretum, where she will be teaching a lively class on useful items for a culinary tool kit. The class will be at the Charlotte and Donald Test Pavilion from 1p.m. until 3 p.m. Tickets cost $65 for non members and $60 for members.

Rock ‘n roll with The Stoneleighs this Saturday at the Granada Theater as they perform the Rolling Stone’s hits. Doors open at 10:30 p.m. and tickets start at $10.
