Let’s face it, the only thing Dallasites want to do this weekend is watch the Cowboys rip apart the Green Bay Packers on Sunday in the NFC Divisional Playoffs. Every establishment in our neighborhood with a TV will likely be playing the game, but the Granada Theater will have it on the big screen, complete with concert-venue speakers. There’s no cost to come down and enjoy the game. Food an drink are available for purchase and doors open at 2:30 p.m. for a 3:40 p.m. kick off.

For those looking for a less sporty Sunday, St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church will host an afternoon of music beginning at 3:30 p.m. Dr. Damin Spritzer, a St. Matthew’s Cathedral Arts’ artist-in-residence, will begin the event with an organ recital featuring the music of Wills, Bach, Parry, Howells and Dallier. At 4 p.m., the choral artists, led by conductor H. Michie Akin, will perform accompanied by organist Keith Franks. There is no charge to attend.

Continuing through most of February, the enduring Pocket Sandwich Theater launches its 2017 season with “Tomorrow is Forever-The Spy Melodrama,” a sort-of parody of the James Bond franchise. Tag along on an adventure with spies Hardy Flynt and Purity Steele as they attempt to thwart the creators of a mind control device that brainwashes world leaders. Tickets are $12-15 at the doors, 5400 Mockingbird.

The ancient art of book-making will be explored at the Bath House Cultural Center this Saturday. Taught by Erin Reeves of Makeshift Photography from 2-4 p.m., attendees will learn how to make photo and scrapbooks by hand. The cost is $30-$40 and registration is available here.
