wicked musical

Idina Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth were the stars of the original Broadway production of “Wicked.”

The musical “Wicked” returns to the Music Hall at Fair Park for Dallas Summer Musicals’ 2013 season, and tickets are now on sale at Ticketmaster as well as the Preston-Royal DSM box office (if you have time, make the trip and save yourself the online fees).

“Catch Me If You Can” (based on the movie) will be the first musical of the 2013 season, Feb. 12-24, and tickets for those seats are on sale, too. “Mary Poppins,” “Priscilla, Queen of the Desert,” “Sister Act,” “Flashdance,” and “The Lion King” are also in this year’s line-up, and anyone interested in attending multiple shows can save money with season tickets or a mini pack.

“Wicked” will undoubtedly be the most sought-after of the season, however. This will be the musical’s fourth tour in Dallas, and “every seat of the Music Hall at Fair Park was sold for the musical’s previous three engagements,” says Michael Jenkins, Dallas Summer Musicals president and managing director. The show will be here three and a half weeks this time around, April 10-May 5, but could easily sell out, considering its popularity.
