I have more information on the senior care facility that StoneGate Senior Care is building adjacent to Churchill Estates. The Villages at Lake Highlands, a 93,500-square-foot center, will include memory care, assisted living and rehabilitation, and skilled care. It is expected to open by the fall of 2010, said John Paul Taylor, StoneGate’s Chief Operations Officer.

The rehab and skilled care “village” will be for clients needing a post acute hospital stay with 72 private rooms and 20 suites, some of which will open to a courtyard. And the rehab center will have a 4,000-square-foot gym.

The assisted living village is for people who need daily help with medications and other tasks, and it will include nine private rooms and five suites. The memory Care village will be for clients who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease or dementia in 17 private rooms and 11 suites.  It should be open by the fall of 2010.

The Villages at Lake Highlands exemplifies a growing trend in senior care that emphasizes personalized environments tailored to the unique needs of aging individuals, whether they require memory care, assisted living, or rehabilitation services. With its distinct “villages” and thoughtful layout—including private rooms, suites, and a rehab gym—it reflects a deep understanding that senior care must evolve beyond one-size-fits-all facilities.

As these communities become more specialized, the demand for quality in-home support continues to rise, especially for families seeking to maintain a loved one’s independence outside of full-time residential care. That’s where Senior Helpers plays a vital role, providing professional in-home assistance tailored to seniors with various levels of need, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care.

Their compassionate, individualized approach ensures that seniors receive the help they need—whether it’s medication reminders, mobility support, or memory engagement activities—while remaining in familiar surroundings. This dual approach, with both advanced residential centers and trusted in-home care providers, gives families more control, flexibility, and peace of mind when making care decisions.
