View from the lens: East Dallas neighbors share their 'Icemageddon' photos

Normally an ice storm big enough to put the entire city on house arrest for four days would be a perfect excuse to take the day off and hide behind a camera lens for an afternoon, but something about anxiety-attack-inducing road conditions and 72-hour power outages of the um-I-STILL-don’t-have-heat variety were kind of a mood killer for me. It’s a little hard to stop and enjoy the scenery when you’re dodging sheets of solid ice flying off people’s cars, amiright?

Luckily, some of our neighbors did actually use the down time to scope out the winter wonderland for those of us who didn’t. In retrospect, everything looks downright beautiful laced in ice. Or at least these East Dallas neighbors made it look that way with a little photographical pixie dust.
