Veletta Forsythe Lill, former council rep for the Hollywood Heights/M-Streets portions of our neighborhod, received a little face time in Sunday’s DMN for her work as chairwoman of the Parkland Foundation board of directors, which is working to raise $150 milion to help fund the new hospital, for which we approved $747 million during the most recent election. The story lists some of the major donors so far to the foundation; among them are Lake Highlands residents Joan and Alan Walne, owners of Herb’s Paint & Body, who the story reports have donated $100,000 to the cause. Overall, the group has raised $80 million so far.
