On Wednesday, Utopia Food + Fitness opens in the Lakewood Village shopping center at the corner of Mockingbird Lane and Abrams Road. It will bring healthy meals and short workouts to busy families and professionals.

Utopia provides meals based on each client’s goals and measurements, with specific portions to help patrons lose weight and gain muscle. The meals can be purchased a la carte, or they can be part of a package that includes a workout plan.

“You can’t outrun a bad diet,” said David Liles, a Utopia branch owner who is helping open the Lakewood location. “Food and fitness together is where the magic really happens.”

Just two 20-minute circuit workouts a week complement the nutrition portion of the program, and they can be completed at Utopia’s on-site gym. The opening special is $1 to join and $99 in membership dues.

“We provide the food and the space, but they’re accomplishing their goals,” Liles said. “We prepare them to go out on their own. We’re not saying don’t do yoga or don’t go run. Let this be your base and then go out and do other things.”

The Lakewood location will take the place of Little Lakewood Salon and Playhouse at 6434 E. Mockingbird Lane suite No. 105. It is Utopia’s fifth branch in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.
