Ty Underwood of SLJ Co. real estate says the old Tipperary Inn space at Live Oak and Skillman has been leased. The Tipp has been empty since its owners of five years decided to close it last May.

Another source tells us the new tenants are opening a pub called Molly Maguire’s. I put in a call to the owners but haven’t heard back yet. We will keep you updated.

Update: Co-owner Ricky Woolfolk says he and two partners expect to open Molly Maguire’s, an "authentic Irish pub", as soon as the first week of June.

They’re creating an all-new Irish menu and updating the building’s patio area, but they’re leaving the interior as it was. The new place will have live music on the weekends, and they’ll be open seven days a week from 11 a.m.-2 a.m. They’ll also have a gluten-free menu.

Woolfolk has 22 years of experience in the bar business, and used to own the scenester hangout Dolce Lounge. His business partner, Hallie Clayton, has 18 years in the business and used to own Glo Lounge. Woolfolk declined to name the third partner.

The partners signed their lease on Friday, and many Lakewood neighbors already have stopped by to find out what’s going on.

"Everyone seems really excited about it," Woolfolk says.
