About half an hour later, authorities recognized the vehicle and tried to conduct a traffic stop. A chase began in the 5100 block of Garland Road near White Rock Lake, NBC DFW reported.

Officers chased the U-Haul north to Peavy Road and then south to westbound Interstate 30. The chase ended when the driver exited on Dolphin Road and stopped near Julia Frazier Elementary on Spring Avenue, according to the station.

Police said four people abandoned the truck and fled on foot. Three of them were arrested.
