A free, self-guided tour of some our neighborhood’s backyard chicken coops is 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Sunday, May 1.
Maps for the 2011 “A Peep at the Coops” tour are available at Corner Market, Hillside Veterinary Clinic and North Haven Gardens.
Meet the chickens and the people who keep them, learn about beekeeping, composting and rainwater capture, among other topics.
The tour is free, but donations from sponsors, T-shirt sales and raffle tickets will be donated to Stonewall Jackson Elementary for its gardens.
