Tommy Wiseau knows what the people want. He’s the director, writer, producer and star of the 2003 disasterpiece, The Room, a movie so awful that it’s become a 21st-century traveling circus. Wiseau’s version of juggling and trapeze acts is a semi-annual nationwide tour, where he screens The Room to a raucous crowd, along with his latest project, followed by an in-person Q&A.
On Friday and Saturday, August 16 and 17, he’s back with Big Shark, a comedy-horror that marks his first foray into “genre” “filmmaking,” if you can call either that. The films will screen at Angelika Film Center on Mockingbird. The Room shows twice on Friday night, at 6:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. And again at the same times on Saturday, with Big Shark hitting the screen at 10 p.m. All five screenings will be followed by a live Q&A with Wiseau.
Tickets are available via the Angelika website, and will likely, for some reason, sell out.
