Hotel Palomar hosts a wine hour from 5-7 tonight, Thursday, Dec. 1, benefiting the North Texas Food Bank. Snacks, wine and free valet parking with a $20 donation.

Light-up Lakewood is from 6-9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 2., in Harrell Park, at Abrams and Gaston, in the Lakewood Shopping Center. Bring a toy for the Lakewood Service League’s toy drive. Pictures with Santa, face painting, a petting zoo and bounce house are on the agenda, along with performances from the Woodrow Variations show choir and marching band and the J.L. Long Orchestra.
