Tomorrow, April 10, run for park improvements. The White Rock Lake Conservancy in cooperation with the City of Dallas Park and Recreation Department hosts Celebration! Cheer on your East Dallas schools at the White Rock Spring Games this weekend, April 11-13. Boys and girls from East Dallas area schools will compete in a wide range of individual and team events, ranging from the purely athletic to the wildly funny. There will also be food, beverages and entertainment on hand to create a festive atmosphere of community camaraderie. Through April 27, the White Rock Lake Museum (located inside the Bath House Cultural Center) presents Flora Et Lux, an exhibition of photographs by Dallas artist Sandra Freeman. The exhibition features sepia toned images of flowers and dried plants including magnolias, calla lilies, amaryllis and seedpods. Read more.

This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Dallas Arboretum’s major floral festival Dallas Blooms, with the theme “Birds in Paradise.” The festivities have been extended through April 20 to fully showcase the garden as it features more than 500,000 spring-blossoming bulbs burst, and the beloved peacock topiaries return to spread their colorful petal tails in the Jonsson Color Garden.
