“Deathtrap”, the thriller-comedy by the author of “Rosemary’s Baby” and “The Stepford Wives” is about a once-successful playwright on a downward spiral. He comes across a brilliant script by a novice writer — and plots to kill the writer so he can take credit for the script. The plan quickly spirals out of control, making for thrills and laughs along the way. Tickets are $7-$18 at the Pocket Sandwich Theater.

Know a teen or young woman who has it all — looks, personality and talent? Then tell her about the Miss White Rock Lake Scholarship Pageant, scheduled for Nov. 1. The Miss White Rock Lake Organization will host a Pageant Expo and Seminar on Saturday from 1 – 4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn Express (8703 E. RL Thornton Freeway, Dallas 75228 or I-30 and Jim Miller Road), where pageant hopefuls can learn all about the ins and outs of pageant preparation, and attendees will also get a chance to meet last year’s Miss Teen and Miss White Rock Lake. MEED Center Kids’ Festival at JFK Elementary School, 1802 Moser, features fun for children featuring games, crafts and entertainment along with vendors who will provide valuable health and safety information. Parkland hospital will provide free immunization for kids under age 18, when a parent is present with the students immunization record, between 9 a.m. and noon.
