Editor’s Note: We just received word at 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 9, that the Festival has been canceled due to high winds and the expected rain this weekend. Apparently, Porta Pottys were blowing over during the setup Friday, so the organizers will look for another weekend in 2013 for the event.

The Lakewood Home Festival is Nov. 9-11.

For the Love of the Lake hosts its 200th shoreline spruce-up starting at 8 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10.

Granada Theater programmed this year’s White Rock Lake Festival, and there are nine bands performing. The two-day festival is from noon-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, and no0n-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11 at Boy Scout Hill. Tickets cost just $5 per day, children under 5 get in free, and the proceeds benefit the White Rock Lake Foundation.

Switching Gears Cyclery in Expo Park, co-owned by neighborhood resident Andee Pittman, hosts its “grander re-opening” party starting at 1 p.m. Saturday. The bike shop moved into the old Bar of Soap.

Art Conspiracy 8 is Saturday at 960 Dragon.

Times Ten Cellars hosts a fundraiser for the Doris Daniely Outreach for Breast Reconstruction from 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. New and used handbags and jewelry will be on sale to benefit the nonprofit, which raises funds to help low-income breast cancer survivors afford reconstruction surgery after a mastectomy. Admission to the sale costs $5.
