Swiss Avenue is the oldest historic district in Dallas, and its home tour is this weekend. Read interviews from five neighbors who worked for the designation in 1973 in the May Advocate, and visit the Swiss Avenue Historic District Mother’s Day Home Tour, May 12-13. Tickets cost $20-25 online, at Whole Foods and Talulah Belle or at the event. A brunch at Savage Park from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. Sunday costs $20 and includes entertainment from Matt Tolentino and the Singapore Slingers.

Pinot’s Palette will hold a Mother’s Day painting class from 2-4 p.m. Saturday. $20 per painter. Paint a custom portrait of your four-legged friend at Paint for Pups this Sunday at Pinot’s Palette. For every ticket purchased, $15 will be donated to DFW Rescue Me.

The Dallas Women’s Forum will host a catered Mother’s Day brunch at the Alexander Mansion. Reservations are required and can be made at 214.832.4533. $45, $20 for children under 12.

Texas Discovery Gardens will host a Mother’s Day concert and butterfly release on Sunday at 3 p.m. Tickets range from $15-$25.

The  Chamber Music international ends its 2011-2012 series this weekend with “Concert 6”. It will take place Friday at Saint Matthew’s Episcopal Cathedral at 8 p.m. and Saturday at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church at 8 p.m.

On Saturday from 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Wings for Wellness will be putting on Motherhood Matters Pregnancy Expo at Fellowship Bible Church. The event is free, and will have educational seminars, door prizes, and fun for kids.

The Five & Dime Run 5-mile and 10-mile races will be at Winfrey Point on Saturday beginning at 8 a.m. Live entertainment, food, and libations follow the race.
